Tattoo Aftercare

1. About an hour after receiving your tattoo, carefully remove the bandage. Gently wash your new tattoo with warm water and a mild anti-bacterial soap. DO NOT RE-BANDAGE!
2. Apply a thin layer of A&D Ointment or Bacitracin Ointment for the next 5 days. Apply as many times as necessary to keep the tattoo looking shiny. DO NOT LET TATTOO DRY OUT!
3. After the 5th day you can switch to a good hand lotion. Make sure it is fragrance and aloe free. Again DO NOT LET TATTOO DRY OUT!
4. Stay out of direct sunlight or any tanning apparatus until tattoo is completely healed. 7-10 days at least. Sunlight will always fade any tattoo, even after it is healed. The more you can use sun block on your tattoos or keep them out of the sun, the longer they will be vibrant and bright.
5. Do not soak your new tattoo. Prolonged soaking in tubs, pools, saunas, hot tubs or jacuzzis. Showers are ok and necessary.
6. Do not rub or pick at your new tattoo at any time. Blemishes, loss of color or infection may occur.
7. Your tattoo should be completely healed in 2 weeks. Consult a physician if any of these signs or symptoms develop: Excessive redness or excessive swelling, green or yellow, fouling smelling discharge and/or fever.

Piercing Aftercare

1. We recommend all piercings be cleaned and maintained with H2Ocean Piercing spray. It is available here at the shop for $12.00.
2. Use H2Ocean 3-6 times a day, for the next 3-6 months. Spray it directly onto the piercing.
3. Do not touch, play with or move your new piercing with your fingers. The more you touch it, the longer it will take to heal, resulting in a larger scar.
4. Do not allow your new piercing to come into contact with ANY foreign body fluids. This includes saliva, urine, semen etc...
5. Do not remove jewelry. New piercings can close in a matter of seconds sometimes.
6. Never use Alcohol, Hydrogen Peroxide or hand soap on your piercing. It will dry out your skin and may damage healthy cells.
7. Avoid any make-up, tanning oil, lotions, creams, medicated washes, body washes. If your new piercing comes into contact with any of these substances, rinse thoroughly and spray with H2Ocean.
8. Avoid swimming in any fresh water. This includes lakes, ponds, rivers, pools, hot tubs and any other fresh water source. Ocean water is ok.
9. Avoid prolonged exposure to sun light and/or tanning beds for the next two weeks.
10. Avoid tight fitting clothing in the area of the piercing.
11. Check your jewelry once a day, if applicable, and sure all beads are tight. Over time they will get loose if not tightened regularly.
12. In about 1 month (3 months for cartilage) you can come in the shop and WE can change your jewelry to the desired length. To change it on your own, you must wait 3 months for typical piercings and 6 months for cartilage.
